YOU, YOUR GLORY, AND THE IDOLS IN YOUR LIFE — PART 2

Let us live together in peace. Let us be truthful with one another. Let us stop hurting one another. We can live joyfully if we allow each other to do so. Allow others to serve God with gladness. If temptation must come, let it come from outside—not from someone they trust and dine with.

When you eat at the same table with someone yet secretly stab them, it is deeply painful. Satan cannot gain entrance unless we open the door for him. He could not touch Job carelessly because there was unity and righteousness in his household. Job lived uprightly, and his integrity built a hedge around him. As written in Job 1:9–10, even Satan acknowledged the divine covering over Job. Our uprightness will push Satan far from us. Our genuine love for one another will keep the enemy at a distance. Consider the life that Christ lived with His disciples—they walked in unity. Though others misunderstood them, they remained together in purpose.

The only way we can make it to heaven is by being genuine with one another. Let us celebrate one another. Let us encourage and lift one another up. As 1 John 4:7 says, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God. Instead of looking for the downfall of a brother or sister, why not encourage them to please Christ? Even if you believe someone is going the wrong way, approach them in love. Call them aside and counsel them so they will not fall. Do not dig a pit for them. Rather, help pull them out of danger. As Jude 1:23 teaches us, we are to save others with compassion.

PRAYER:

REFLECTION:
