THE VIRTUE OF CONSECRATION (PART 6 – FINAL)

KEY TEXT: Malachi 3:3 KJV – “And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi… that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.”

The process of consecration is ongoing. It is not a one-time decision but a daily refining and purifying work of the Holy Spirit. Just as silver must go through fire to become pure, the believer must submit to God’s refining hand. Many resist this process because it is uncomfortable, but there is no glory without cleansing. “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure” – 1 John 3:3 KJV. The more purified you are, the more qualified you become for divine use.

Consecration also affects your choices—how you dress, speak, spend your time, and interact with the world. A consecrated believer lives with eternity in view. You are not just living for this world but for the One who called you out of darkness. “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people…” – 1 Peter 2:9 KJV. Being peculiar means you cannot do what everyone else does. You live differently because you belong to Someone greater.

Finally, the reward of consecration is eternal. Though it may cost you temporary pleasures and acceptance by the world, it will gain you divine presence now and everlasting joy in the world to come. I, Apostle Emmanuel Osezele, calls the principle of consecration the painful but gainful principle. If you could bear the pain you would enjoy the gain at last. “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God” – Matthew 5:8 KJV. In a time when many are compromising to fit in, consecrated believers stand out. Be that vessel that God can trust in this corrupt generation.

PRAYER:

Father, continue Your refining work in my life. Make me a vessel fit for Your use. Let nothing defile me or distract me from Your purpose. Keep me consecrated until the day I see You face to face, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

2 Corinthians 7:1 KJV – “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
