THE VIRTUE OF CONSECRATION (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: 2 Corinthians 6:17 KJV – “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”

ACTIVE SEPARATION: True consecration is not passive—it is a deliberate and ongoing decision to separate oneself from all that offends God. It is a call to spiritual distinction, not isolation. God wants His children to be in the world but not of the world. When a believer begins to pursue consecration, there will be a natural breaking away from things, people, and environments that defile. “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV. If you still blend in with the world, then your consecration is questionable.

DISCIPLINE AND RENEWAL: A consecrated life demands discipline and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. The flesh must be brought under subjection, and the soul must be aligned with God's Word. This is not possible without a renewed mind. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” — Romans 12:2 KJV. Many fail in consecration because they try to offer God a polluted life—a life that still wants to hold on to worldly entertainment, selfish desires, and sinful habits.

PURSUIT OF GOD: Consecration is not merely about what you avoid but what you pursue. You are not just running from sin; you are running toward righteousness, purity, and divine intimacy. Paul said, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 3:14 KJV. God uses those who are intentional in their pursuit of Him. Until you value His presence more than anything else, consecration will remain a burden instead of joy.

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, help me to walk in practical and spiritual consecration. Give me the grace to come out from everything that displeases You. Set my heart on fire for Your holiness, and may I never return to the world I left behind, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Psalm 4:3 KJV: “But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.”
