THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS (PART 4)

KEY TEXT: PROVERBS 17:9 – “He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.”

Forgiveness is not just for peace, it is the foundation of godly relationships. Where there is no forgiveness, love cannot thrive. God is love, and love keeps no record of wrongs. If you want to live in God's presence, learn to forgive quickly and sincerely.

“Charity... thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth.” – 1 CORINTHIANS 13:5–6

Forgiveness protects your spiritual progress. One offense can plant bitterness, which can grow into hatred, rebellion, and destruction. Do not let the root of bitterness defile your spirit—uproot it with forgiveness.

“Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.” – HEBREWS 12:15

Jesus warned us that offenses must come—but He also told us how to handle them. Do not be surprised when people hurt you; be ready to forgive before they do. Forgiveness is not for when you are strong—it is what makes you strong.

“It is impossible but that offences will come...” – LUKE 17:1

Child of God, if you are waiting to feel like forgiving, you may never do it. Forgiveness is a decision to obey God even when it hurts. It is a seed you sow into your future. Let it go, and you will grow.

PRAYER:

Father, I surrender every offense, pain, and disappointment to You. Let love conquer every wound in my heart. Empower me to forgive as Christ forgave me. In Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

GALATIANS 6:1 KJV: “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness...”
