THE POWER OF COMPASSION

KEY TEXT: Colossians 3:12 KJV – “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.”

Compassion is one of the strongest evidences of Christ dwelling in us. It is the ability to feel the pain of others and be moved to act with love and kindness. Our Lord Jesus Christ was often moved with compassion, and that compassion gave birth to healing, deliverance, and provision in the lives of many. Matthew 14:14

Many believers today allow pride, selfishness, and unforgiveness to kill the seed of compassion in them. Without compassion, love remains incomplete, and ministry becomes mechanical. A compassionate heart is quick to forgive, quick to help, and quick to pray for others in need. Jude 1:22

Beloved, compassion is power. It heals broken hearts, restores wounded relationships, and opens doors for God’s mercy to flow. When we walk in compassion, we show the world that Christ truly lives in us. Refusing to be compassionate hardens the heart and disconnects us from the nature of God. Ephesians 4:32

Therefore, let us allow compassion to guide our words, actions, and service to God and humanity. By this, we will not only bless others but also secure God’s mercy for our own lives. Matthew 5:7

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, fill me with Your heart of compassion. Help me to love, forgive, and show mercy as You have done for me, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

1 Peter 3:8 KJV – “Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous.”

3. O Lord, help me to walk in compassion daily—let my words, actions, and attitudes reflect Your mercy and nature everywhere I go, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.

4. Holy Spirit, empower me to forgive quickly, help joyfully, and pray sincerely for others, that Christ may be seen in my life, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.
