THE NEED FOR BELIEVER'S CONSECRATION (PART 2)

KEY TEXT: ROMANS 6:13 KJV: "Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God."

PURIFICATION THROUGH THE WORD: Consecration involves purification, and God's Word is the cleansing agent that sanctifies us. As we immerse ourselves in Scripture, it transforms our hearts and minds, setting us apart from the corruption of the world. Jesus prayed that His followers would be sanctified by the truth of God’s Word. "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth" (JOHN 17:17).

THE ROLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit plays a vital role in our consecration. He convicts us of sin, leads us into truth, and empowers us to live righteously. Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot walk in true holiness. We must yield to His guidance daily, allowing Him to shape us into the image of Christ. "But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things" (1 JOHN 2:20).

SEPARATION FROM THE WORLD: God calls His people to be distinct from the world, not conforming to its sinful patterns. This does not mean isolation, but rather living in a way that reflects God's righteousness. Our actions, speech, and lifestyle should testify of our devotion to Christ. "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you" (2 CORINTHIANS 6:17).

PRAYER:

Father Lord, your desire is to see me fully consecrated unto your image and likeness. Endow me with the power of the Holy Spirit and the grace to daily dwell in your Word, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

ROMANS 12:1 KJV: "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."
