THE MOTIONS OF SIN (PART 9)
KEY TEXT: Psalm 119:11 KJV: “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

THE WORD OF GOD AS A DEFENCE AGAINST SIN: One of the strongest defenses against the motions of sin is the Word of God. Sin gains strength when the Word of God is absent or neglected in the life of a believer. But when the Word is deeply rooted in the heart, it becomes a barrier that prevents sin from taking control. (John 17:17)
The Word of God exposes sin, corrects the believer, and strengthens spiritual conviction. It gives clarity in moments of temptation and provides direction when the flesh is weak. A believer who is filled with the Word will be sensitive to sin and quick to resist it through truth and righteousness. (Hebrews 4:12)
Consistent meditation on the Scriptures builds spiritual strength and renews the mind. The more the Word of God fills the heart, the weaker the motions of sin become. This is why believers must constantly study, meditate, and speak the Word over their lives daily. (Romans 12:2)
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, fill my heart with Your Word and make me strong against every motion of sin. Let Your truth guide my thoughts, desires, and actions, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen
REFLECTION:
John 8:32 KJV: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
