THE DANGER OF COMPROMISE (PART 6)

KEY TEXT: Revelation 2:4-5 KJV – “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works...”

One of the most dangerous results of compromise is losing your first love. When the fire that once burned passionately for righteousness starts to dim, compromise has already begun its work. Many have replaced devotion with routine, and intimacy with formality. They no longer tremble at the Word, nor weep in prayer. “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me.” — Matthew 15:8 KJV

God is calling His people to return. Compromise can be reversed if there is repentance. The Church in Ephesus was given a warning: go back to where you first began — with brokenness, consecration, and love for holiness. “Be zealous therefore, and repent.” — Revelation 3:19 KJV

We are in a generation where compromise has become normalized — but the narrow path is still the only path that leads to eternal life. Let no man deceive you: those who live in compromise will not inherit the Kingdom of God. “Be not deceived: neither fornicators... nor idolaters... nor thieves... shall inherit the kingdom of God.” — 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 KJV

To overcome compromise, believers must live daily with eternity in view. Every decision, action, and desire must be weighed against its eternal consequence. “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” — Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, I repent of every form of compromise. Restore me to my first love. Rekindle my passion for truth, holiness, and righteousness. Let me not be a castaway after preaching to others, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Luke 21:36 KJV: “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things... and to stand before the Son of man.”
