KINDLING FIRE IN GOD'S ANGER

KEY TEXT: Deuteronomy 31:17 KJV – “Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?”

God is grieved by the rebellion and sin of humanity. All humanity is doing now by rebeling and sinning against God, is adding anger and fuel to fire that is already burning. God says in Jeremiah 17:4-5: “….for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever. Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.” Trusting in man over God only adds fire to the anger of the Lord.

Do you know what they are doing in all those places you are running to, going up and down? Are you aware of their spiritual foundations? You don't know, yet you bow down before their altars. Many people today unknowingly bow before altars that do not serve God. Many of these modern preachers use fluent and sugarcoated speeches to hide work that is of the devil. And as long you are with them, you pay tribute to the devil unknown to you. Thus, adding fuel to the fire that’s already burning. Deuteronomy 32:17

Deuteronomy 32:20 says, “…for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.” Many don't have faith in God, but they have faith in one native doctor. We see people who fear their bosses or religious leaders more than they fear God, trusting in "fathers in the Lord" who do not have God within them. While God loves and cares for humanity deeply, many have turned their hearts away from Him.

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, have mercy upon me for living contrary to Your will, thus pushing you to anger. Help me to repent, that you may save me from your wrath to come, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Jeremiah 7:19 KJV – “Do they provoke me to anger? saith the Lord: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?”

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father Lord, have mercy upon me and forgive me for every way I have provoked Your anger through disobedience, misplaced trust, and departure from Your ways; let Your anger be turned away from me by Your mercy. In Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.

2. O Lord my God, deliver me from trusting in man, flesh, or personalities above You. Uproot every form of spiritual idolatry in my heart, and restore my complete trust and faith in You alone, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.

3. Heavenly Father, revive in me the fear of the Lord and genuine faith in You. Remove every form of faithlessness, double-mindedness, and spiritual compromise from my life, and help me to walk uprightly before You, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.

4. O Lord, hide not Your face from me. Let Your presence abide with me continually. Restore my relationship with You, draw my heart back to You, and keep me from anything that will kindle Your anger against me, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.
