KEEP YOUR FIRST LOVE FOR CHRIST UNINTERRUPTED (PART 5)

KEY TEXT: 2 Timothy 4:7-8 KJV: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

THE REWARD OF ENDURING LOVE: The Christian race is not only about starting well but also finishing with steadfast devotion. Those who keep their first love for Christ till the end shall receive the crown of life and the crown of righteousness. Christ Himself promises eternal reward to those who overcome and remain faithful to Him without wavering to the end (Revelation 2:10; James 1:12).

THE JOY OF FAITHFULNESS: Keeping your love for Christ uninterrupted guarantees eternal joy. When a believer’s love is consistent, they remain prepared for the coming of the Lord, and their works will follow them into eternity. Such believers will be welcomed with the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21; Hebrews 6:10).

ETERNAL SECURITY IN CHRIST: To love Christ to the end is to secure eternal fellowship with Him. Nothing in this present world can compare with the glory that awaits those who remain steadfast in their devotion. The crown is not for the careless or lukewarm but for those who finish strong, enduring trials, temptations, and distractions while keeping their eyes on Jesus (Romans 8:18; Matthew 24:13).

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, grant me grace to keep my love for You burning till the very end. Let me not miss my eternal reward but remain faithful and steadfast, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
