GOD’S DIVINE JUDGMENT

KEY TEXT: Hebrews 12:29 KJV: “For our God is a consuming fire.”

GOD’S LOVE: Most believers are only familiar with the loving side of God, which indeed is important. The love of God is revealed to mankind through the selfless sacrifice of Christ on the cross of Calvary. This is one of the most beautiful attributes of God, consistently demonstrated throughout the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation. We see how God’s love is displayed in Scripture through Christ’s actions here on earth — an undeniable reflection of God’s heart.

GOD’S JUST JUDGMENT: However, another attribute of God that many Christians fail to consider or acknowledge is His fair and righteous judgment. God is a just and fair Judge. He recompenses wickedness and iniquity according to His divine order of punishment. God indeed is loving, but He is also the righteous Judge who executes justice upon the evil of man. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Deuteronomy 32:4

The judgment of God is fiery, and His indignation burns hot against those who commit iniquity. When one falls under the fire of God’s wrath, they quickly understand that He is impartial. God will judge sinners, the unrighteous, the rebellious, and the ungodly — ultimately casting them into hellfire. Do not take the mercy of God for granted, for He will visit iniquity with fire. For our God is a consuming fire! Repent, and turn ye unto the Lord! Nahum 1:6

PRAYER:

O Lord, please give me the grace not to take your mercy for granted, so I do not end up encountering your judgment and anger in hellfire atlast, in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Acts 3:19 KJV: “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.”

PRAYER POINTS:

1. O Lord, my Father, search my heart and purge me of every hidden sin, rebellion, and unrighteousness, that I may not fall under Your righteous judgment but walk acceptably before You, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

(Psalm 139:23–24; Hebrews 12:29)

2. My Father and my God, grant me genuine repentance and a broken spirit, that my sins may be blotted out and I may not take Your mercy for granted, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

(Acts 3:19; Psalm 51:17)

3. O righteous Judge of all the earth, deliver me from every lifestyle, association, or habit that provokes Your anger, and establish me in holiness and the fear of the Lord, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

(Proverbs 16:6; Hebrews 10:31)

4. Lord, by Your mercy, let Your fire refine me and not consume me; let Your judgment produce righteousness in my life and keep me prepared for eternity, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen. (Malachi 3:2–3; Isaiah 26:9)
