FIGHTING FOR THE PRIZE OF THE HIGH CALLING (PART 6)
KEY TEXT: Colossians 3:23–24 KJV – “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”

YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD: The Christian race is not run to please men but to please God, who is the righteous Judge. Many miss the prize because they run with the wrong motives—seeking recognition, applause, or earthly rewards. Beloved in Christ, your relationship with God must be grounded in sincerity, humility, and total devotion. Whatever you do for Christ—whether service, sacrifice, or suffering—do it with all your heart unto Him, not for men. For it is God who rewards, not man. 2 Chronicles 15:7
YOUR SPIRITUAL CONDITION: Running for the prize requires wholehearted commitment. Half-hearted service produces no crown. Jesus warned the church in Laodicea against lukewarmness (Revelation 3:15–16). Your spiritual condition must reflect diligence, zeal, and passion for the kingdom. God honors those who serve Him faithfully, not reluctantly or grudgingly. Endure hardness, remain steadfast, and run your race with joy, knowing that God’s reward far surpasses anything this world offers. Hebrews 12:1-3
THE VOICE OF YOUR CONSCIENCE: Your conscience will remind you whether your motives are pure or self-serving. If you seek men’s approval, you already have your reward (Matthew 6:1–2). But if your conscience testifies that you are serving out of love and obedience to Christ, then you are fighting lawfully for the eternal prize. Keep your heart pure, and let your conscience urge you to always do all things heartily as unto the Lord. Galatians 6:9
PRAYER:
O Lord my Savior, purify my motives and help me to serve You wholeheartedly, that I may receive the eternal reward of the inheritance in Christ, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.
REFLECTION:
1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV – “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
PRAYER POINTS:
1. My Father and my God, purify my heart from every wrong motive. Help me to serve You with sincerity, humility, and total devotion, not for men’s applause but for Your glory, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.
2. Lord Jesus Christ, fill me with passion and zeal to serve You wholeheartedly. Deliver me from lukewarmness and complacency; let my service in Your kingdom be full of fire and faithfulness, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.
3. O Lord my God, let my conscience always be alive and pure before You. Help me to do all things heartily as unto You, and not unto men, that I may receive the eternal reward of righteousness, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.
4. My Father and my God, strengthen me to remain steadfast and unmovable in Your work. Let nothing cause me to lose focus or grow weary, and may my labour never be in vain, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.
