FAITHFUL CONTINUITY IS REQUIRED (PART 4)

KEY TEXT: Acts 26:21-22 KJV – “For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me. Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come.”

It is written in Scripture: “…having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day…”Paul was determined never to give up no matter what was done to him. He knew they were looking to destroy him and kill him, but he refused to give up. Romans 2:7 states, “To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life.” Are you patient enough to stand strong?

In 1 John 2:19, John the apostle explains of certain people who did not faithfully continue: “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us.” They were shaking hands with us, saying ‘Hallelujah’ with us, and doing everything with us, but were not of us. When the Lord shall set a mark of those who belong to Him, you and I shall be there in the name of Jesus Christ.

It is written in Hebrews 10:35-37: “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.” When I, Apostle Emmanuel Osezele remember it's just a little while, I keep on going in my walk with God. That has been my consolation for a long time; I keep serving God no matter what, money or no money, applauded or mocked, accepted or rejected. This should be your consolation, too.

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus Christ, give me the grace to overcome every tribulation that will stand in my way, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Hebrews 12:2 KJV – “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, as You helped Paul to continue unto the end, obtain for me divine help to remain steadfast in my walk and service to You, regardless of opposition, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

2. Lord, release upon me the grace of patient continuance in well-doing; I will not grow weary, discouraged, or distracted before receiving the promise, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. Every pressure, threat, mockery, rejection, or lack assigned to make me abandon my calling—lose your power over my life now, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

4. O Lord, mark me among those who truly belong to You; I will not depart from the faith, I will not be counted among those who fall away, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

5. Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith, fix my eyes on You; empower me to endure joyfully until the end and obtain the full reward of faithful service, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
