BEYOND CONVICTION: LEARNING FROM THE WORD OF GOD (PART 6)

KEY TEXT: John 8:31-32 KJV – “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

TRUE DISCIPLESHIP: A disciple of Christ is not one who waits on personal conviction but one who continues in the Word. Jesus Himself tied discipleship to abiding in His teachings. Continuity in the Word produces lasting freedom, while living by conviction alone keeps a believer bound in uncertainty. John 15:7

THE POWER OF TRUTH: Truth is revealed in the Word, not in shifting convictions. Many remain in bondage because they seek conviction instead of abiding in the truth of the Scripture. It is the truth embraced and obeyed that makes free, not the feelings of the heart. John 17:17

THE CALL TO ABIDE: To be truly free, a believer must abide in the Word daily. Conviction comes and goes, but truth is constant. A believer who continues steadfastly in God’s Word will stand firm against deception, error, and sin. Galatians 5:1

PRAYER:

My Lord and my God, give me the grace to continue daily in Your Word, that I may walk in truth and freedom, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

John 17:17 KJV – “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

PRAYER POINTS:

1. O Lord my Father, give me the grace to abide daily in Your Word and never depart from Your truth, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

2. My heavenly Father, let the truth of Your Word sanctify my heart and keep me free from deception, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. Lord Jesus Christ, help me to be a true disciple, who lives by Your Word and not by feelings, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

4. Holy Spirit, empower me to continue steadfastly in the teachings of Christ and walk in lasting freedom, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
