BEYOND CONVICTION: LEARNING FROM THE WORD OF GOD (PART 5)

KEY TEXT: Matthew 7:24 KJV – “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.”

THE STRONG FOUNDATION: Conviction may come and go, but obedience to the Word is what builds a lasting foundation. Jesus compared obedience to building on a rock. Such a house stands when storms come, because its base is unshakable. Matthew 7:25

THE WEAK FOUNDATION: Believers who depend on conviction before acting are like builders on sand. Their walk with God becomes unstable, and the storms of life easily bring them down. Conviction without obedience leads to destruction. Matthew 7:21

THE WISE CHOICE: Wisdom is in hearing and doing the Word promptly. Delayed obedience is disobedience. Those who make haste to obey God’s commandments secure their lives on an eternal foundation. Psalm 119:60

PRAYER:

Lord, establish me on the solid foundation of Your Word. Help me never to wait for my feelings, but to obey immediately, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Psalm 119:60 KJV – “I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.”

PRAYER POINTS:

1. O Lord my Father, establish my life on the solid foundation of Your Word; let no storm of life ever bring me down, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

2. My Father and my God, deliver me from spiritual laziness and delay; empower me to obey Your Word promptly at all times, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. Lord Jesus Christ, remove every weak and unstable foundation in my spiritual walk; rebuild my life upon the unshakable rock of Christ, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

4. O God my Father, let Your Word rule my decisions, actions, and desires; strengthen me to be a doer and not just a hearer, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
