BEYOND CONVICTION: LEARNING FROM THE WORD OF GOD (PART 4)
KEY TEXT: James 1:22 KJV – “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

WORD ABOVE FEELINGS: Feelings are unstable and often deceive, but the Word remains unchanged. A believer who bases obedience on how he feels will keep deceiving himself. Jesus asked, “Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46).
OBEDIENCE BRINGS CONVICTION: Conviction is often birthed in obedience, not the other way around. As a believer walks in obedience to the Word, the Holy Spirit confirms the truth and strengthens the heart (John 14:23).
THE CALL TO ACTION: Hearing the Word and delaying obedience is deception. True blessing comes in doing. Those who act on the Word, regardless of how they feel, are the ones who grow strong in faith and walk in true discipleship.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to be a doer of Your Word. May I never live by my feelings but by Your eternal truth in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
REFLECTION:
Luke 6:46 KJV – “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
PRAYER POINTS:
1. O Lord my Father, give me grace to act upon Your Word instantly and never delay obedience, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
2. My heavenly Father, deliver me from living by emotions and feelings; help me to live by Your unchanging Word, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
3. Lord Jesus Christ, make me a doer of the Word and not a hearer only, that I may walk in truth and not in deception, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
4. Holy Spirit, empower me to obey God’s Word at all times and let my obedience bring lasting transformation, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
