BEYOND CONVICTION: LEARNING FROM THE WORD OF GOD (PART 3)

KEY TEXT: 2 Timothy 3:16 KJV – “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

PARTIAL OBEDIENCE IS DANGEROUS: Many Christians fall into the trap of accepting only the parts of Scripture that convicts them while ignoring the rest. This is not humility but rebellion before God (1 Samuel 15:23). The Bible was not given for selective practice but for total obedience.

THE WHOLE COUNSEL: Scripture is profitable in all its parts. Conviction may bring focus to certain truths at certain times, but the believer must accept the entire Word as life. The servant of God, Paul, declared that he declared all the counsel of God, not a part (Acts 20:27).

THE SAFETY OF FULL OBEDIENCE: To embrace part of the Scripture and reject the rest is to build a weak and unstable foundation. But those who submit to the whole counsel of God walk in stability and safety, being fully furnished for good works.

PRAYER:

Father, deliver me from selective obedience. Help me to embrace the whole counsel of Your Word in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

Acts 20:27 KJV – “For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.”

PRAYER POINTS:

1. O Lord, please deliver me from partial obedience and give me the grace to follow Your Word in full. Let my life align with every truth written in the Scriptures, and may I never select what pleases me but do all that pleases You, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

2. Heavenly Father, open my understanding to see the deep treasures in Your Word. Let the Holy Spirit illuminate my heart to understand, accept, and live by the full counsel of God, so that I will not walk in ignorance or deception, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

3. My Father and my God, grant me divine strength to walk in the truth of Your Word daily. Help me to be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only, deceiving myself. Let my obedience produce righteousness and stability in my Christian journey, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

4. Lord Jesus Christ, make Your Word my final authority and guide in all decisions. Let every part of my life, my thoughts, words, and actions be governed by the Scripture. May I live by every Word that proceeds from Your mouth and remain steadfast till the end, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
