BELIEVER’S SELF-CHASTITY (Part 5)

KEY TEXT: 2 Corinthians 6:17 KJV: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”

SEPARATION FROM UNCLEANNESS: Self-chastity demands a decisive break from all forms of spiritual, moral, and physical defilement. The believer who keeps close company with sin will soon partake of its corruption. Purity is preserved by intentional separation from ungodly influences, relationships, and environments. Ephesians 5:11; Psalm 1:1

THE BLESSING OF CLEAN FELLOWSHIP: Choosing the right company strengthens a believer’s ability to maintain self-chastity. Iron sharpens iron, and so does godly fellowship sharpen faith and discipline. Those who walk with the wise grow wise; those who walk with the careless will soon be ensnared. Proverbs 13:20; Hebrews 10:24-25

EYES FIXED ON THE REWARD: Self-chastity is not a fruitless labour—it carries both earthly and eternal blessings. God promises to receive and honour those who keep themselves pure, and in the end, they will walk with Him in white garments. Let the hope of this reward strengthen your resolve to stay unspotted. Revelation 3:4; Matthew 5:8

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, give me the courage to separate from anything that pollutes my spirit, and help me keep my eyes on the reward of purity, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name, Amen.
