BE ON GUARD AGAINST FALSE PROPHETS

KEY TEXT: Matthew 7:15 KJV: “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

BE ON GUARD: We must be on guard and never let our desperation override discernment. Just because a man can preach well or perform miracles doesn’t mean he is from God. Don’t let your emotions lead you into error. If a preacher asks you to pay money for prayers—run! A true man of God will never humiliate or exploit you. Their fruit will always point you back to Christ, not to themselves or their pocket. — 1 John 4:1

JESUS’ WARNING: Jesus Himself warned that false prophets will come in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. They speak great words and may even perform wonders, but their fruits will expose them. We must examine their lives, their teachings, and their motives—are they pointing us to the cross or to carnality? Do they exalt Christ or exalt themselves? The answer lies in their fruit. “And by their fruits, you shall know them.” — Matthew 7:15–20

BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS: Some of us were once under their wiles, thinking we were on the right path—blinded, bewitched, and bound under the spell of false prophets. These false teachers may not openly show signs of wickedness, but underneath, they have covenanted themselves with the enemy. They draw souls using strange powers, keeping their members from seeing the truth. Beware of false prophets. — Revelation 20:10

PRAYER:

Lord, give me the spiritual insight to be able to identify false prophets and teachers, so that I will not be led astray in these end-times, in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.

REFLECTION:

1 John 4:1 KJV: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
